Ballast Nedam
‘When I walk into De Kuip it feels like coming home. This is really a stadium for everyone’. Claudia Franken, Ballast Nedam Industrial ConstructionWhen the first employees of Ballast Nedam Industriebouw arrived in the Maasgebouw on 20 December 2017, there wasn't time for a drink first. The enthusiasts had signed up for a tour of the stadium. It is apparent from the number of applications that De Kuip has a great appeal to many Dutch people. There was a lot of enthusiasm for the initiative so, in the end, two groups had a tour half an hour before the drinks started. ‘It was great that this could be arranged,’ Ms Franken said. Once in the Boardroom, located on the first floor of the Maas building, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere immediately prevailed among the approximately 120 employees. ‘The space is a bit like a pub. In combination with the extra Christmas decorations, DJ and photo booth, it became an intimate setting’.
Everything was arranged
Franken describes the cooperation between Ballast Nedam Industriebouw and the Feijenoord Stadium as ‘excellent’. ‘The first contact was two months before Christmas. During that conversation in the stadium, it became clear to me that everything could be arranged, such as the layout of the room and menu adjustments. Ballast Nedam Industriebouw employs men who can eat a lot, so that had to be taken into account’.FBC discount
Ms Franken had no reservations about holding the Christmas party at De Kuip. The 50% discount for members of the Feyenoord Business Club, to which Ballast Nedam Industriebouw belongs, wasn’t even a decisive factor for her. ‘Our CEO is a huge Feyenoord fan and I myself am a native of Rotterdam who has attended a number of the club's matches. ‘When I walk into De Kuip it feels like coming home. It is truly a stadium for everyone’.
This certainly also goes for the employees of Ballast Nedam Industriebouw, who had drinks and dinner together in the Boardroom a few days before Christmas. ‘People who work in different parts of the country throughout the year were brought together. That was the best part of the evening for me,’ Ms Franken concludes.
